Hi, I read in a few different posts refering to earlier Kits. Are there differences between the earlier ones and the current, newer Kit? If there are difference, can any one tell me what they are? Any pics? How can you tell? Sorry, but I knew almost nothing about Kit other than that she was developed after Mattel brought the company, thanks in advance for any help!

Right now, thanks to the Kit spread in the current catalog, there is some speculation over whether or not they are changing her eye color. Kit's eyes are normally a deep blue, darker than Elizabeth's. The new catalog though shows Kit with the same shade of blue eyes as Elizabeth.
The board members who have recently purchased Kit from the company have not received her with the lighter blue eye color. It will be interesting to see if in a couple months they have run out of older stock and any new orders of her show up with the light blue eyes.

I am one of those who recently got a Kit, and I got her as a replacement for an older Kit with silver eye. I think that the catalogues are using older stock Kits for their photos, because if you look carefully, she has almost no facial coloring. My older Kit was this way, but my newer one is has a much rosier complexion and lips.

I think that each "run" of dolls is different, so some of the Kits look different from others. Face coloring, face shape (to some extent) and body type are different at times. My Kit is older and is one who has a greenish cast (a face only a mother could love, maybe, LOL--just kidding!). She is also quite stuffed!
We have seen side by side pictures of Marisol on here that look quite different, etc etc.

We've had our Kit for three years and she doesn't look like the ones in the new catalog shots. HEr complexion is not washed out and her cheeks are rosy. Her eyes are the old deep dark blue.

I agree with jenndon. Each "run" is different. When I went to AGPC in 2003 to pick out my Kit doll, I asked if I could see a few different ones so I could personally choose. They thought I was crazy, but some of them were pale, some were rosier complexions, they just looked different!

I have to agree about the different runs, dd has an older version and several of her friends have gotten Kit later and their skin tone is on the greenish side. But Kit is still adorable.
Also our Kit has buckles on her shoes where the newer, and I'm not too sure when they changed, have velcro.

Velcro? Wow. I didn't know they changed! That's my "learned something new today" piece of info!

Yeah, I dind't know that either. We had a discussion a while back about differences in Kit, and I don't remember that. Ours buckle, which I like, but dd does balk at those teeny buckles, so I can see why they might do that.
On another note, we just got her brown boots, and they are the easiest shoes to put on

Thanks so much everyone! That makes a lot of sense, it's so interesting to hear about those little differences in the same doll. I can't wait until AGPLA opens, I'm close enough to go, I would love to see all those wonderful things in person (and hopefully I won't get any more addicted than I already am, lol).
